| 1 | The name of the games series shall be known as the Singapore University Games, hereafter referred to as the SUniGames. |
| | OBJECTIVES |
| 2 | To foster goodwill and friendship through sports, among the students of participating universities. |
| | DATE |
| 3 | The SUniGames shall be held annually and the dates shall be decided by the Singapore Universities Sports Council (SUSC) hereafter referred to as the Council. |
| | ELIGIBILITY |
| 4 | Matriculated/registered students from the Universities pursuing degree or diploma courses, are eligible to participate. |
5 | The institutes participating in the SUniGames are: (1) Nanyang Technological University (NTU) (2) National University of Singapore (NUS) (3) Singapore Management University (SMU) (4) Singapore Institute of Management (SIM) |
6 | The release of the final year result shall be used as the cut-off date to determine a student’s eligibility to play for the institution concerned. |
| | ENTRIES |
7 | All entries shall be confirmed to the respective convenors 4 weeks before the commencement of each competition. |
8 | Any team event with less than 4 teams participating shall not be convened. Likewise, any individual event with less than 4 entries from 3 universities shall not be convened.

| | COMPETITION RULES |
9 | All SUniGames competition rules for each game shall be specified accordingly by individual convenors. |
| | GAMES |
10 | The SUniGames 2008/09 includes the following :- (a) 9-Ball Pool (Men & Women) (b) 10-Pin Bowling (Men & Women) (c) Basketball (Men & Women) (d) Cricket (Men) (e) Soccer (Men & Women) (f) Rugby 7s (Men) (g) Road Race (Men & Women) (h) Sepak Takraw (Men) (i) Squash (Men & Women) (j) Tennis (Men & Women) (k) Touch Rugby (Women) (l) Volleyball (Men & Women) |
| | POSTPONEMENT |
11 | No postponement shall be allowed unless decided upon by the convenor of the game in consultation with the game officials, referees or umpires. |
| | DISCIPLINARY COMMITTEE |
12 | A Disciplinary Committee shall be convened at the request of any convenor for serious offences committed in the game. |
| | PROTESTS |
13 | All protests shall be submitted in writing through the staff official of the institution concerned at the end of the match concerned or otherwise specified by the Rules of each game. |
| | BOARD OF APPEAL |
14 | The Council shall appoint the Board of Appeal comprising one representative from each institution. |
| | TEAM MANAGEMENT |
15 | Each team shall be managed by a full-time or part-time staff from the participating institutions as long as they are endorsed by the sports office. |
| | CONVENORS |
16 | Except for the following activities which shall be convened by the respective institutions on a rotational basis (as shown below), the convenorship of each game will be decided by the Council. |
17 | Any new universities joining the SUniGames shall be rostered to chair the Council at its fourth year of participation. |
| | MEDAL TALLY |
18 | 1. The following medals are contested at the games: (a) 9-Ball Pool (4G) (b) 10-Pin Bowling (6G) (c) Basketball (2G) (d) Cricket (1G) (e) Soccer (2G) (f) Rugby 7s (1G) (g) Road Race (4G) (h) Sepak Takraw (1G) (i) Squash (4G) (j) Tennis (6G) (k) Touch Rugby (1G) (l) Volleyball (2G) |
| OVERALL CHAMPIONSHIP |
19 | The overall champion of the games will be decided by team with the highest number of Gold medals. If there is a tie, then the highest number of Silver medals will be considered to break the tie. |
| | PRIZES |
20 | Prizes shall be awarded to the first 3 placings of each team game/event. |
| | CHALLENGE TROPHY |
21 | Challenge trophies shall only be awarded to the overall champion team of the Games. |
| | INDEMNITY |
22 | The council, convening institutions and/or its appointed officials shall not be held responsible for any injury or death to any player or official during, or as a result of his/her participation in the games. |
| | OFFICIAL RESULTS |
23 | Convenors shall send the official results in the official formats (as in Annex A, B & C) to all institutions within one week after the completion of each competition. |
| | GENERAL RULES |
24 | Any team which fails to abide by the decision of the referee or refuses to continue with the match shall be considered as giving a "walk-over". |
25 | - All teams shall be punctual on the day of play. Any team which arrives after the grace period of fifteen minutes shall concede a "walk-over".
- If a team concedes a "walk-over", it is deemed to have withdrawn from the competition. All previous scores of the team shall be deleted.

26 | With the approval of the SUSC, the convenor may amend any portion of the game rules if deemed necessary. |
| | MATTERS UNPROVIDED FOR |
27 | All matters not provided for in these Rules shall be dealt with by the SUSC whose decision is final. |
